About the designer

The design of the Sigma Chair was created by Ernestas Jasilionis, a professional architect and a graduate of the Vilnius Academy of Arts. While studying, he acquired the knowledge of interior and furniture design and further improved his skills in drawing (which he took a strong liking to in his early youth), painting and colour researching.

Besides his studies, he has been further developing his leisure pursuit of filming. Not only has Ernestas’ passion for this activity grown, but also his achievements in international video competitions and his interest in animation. Finally, he decided to turn this leisure pursuit into his main job.

Today, Ernestas Jasilionis is a freelance animator (www.longfingers.net) who creates short educational and advertising films. His talent has been recognised in many awards in international contests for short educational and advertising films. An artistic personality constantly rises to new challenges and applies his creativity, experience and knowledge in various projects. The Sigma Chair is one of such projects.

Ernestas’ other interests include psychology, marketing and the fostering of positive thinking; knowledge and experience in these areas are not only important for personal growth, but also for creativity. Meditation, the martial art of Leung Ting Wing Tsun Kung Fu, archery and travelling help him keep balance, maintain inner power and regain his strengths.
